  • paysafecard receives the “Leading Prepaid Organisation 2009” award in London and the Paybefore Awards 2009 as “best prepaid card outside the US”.
  • Michael Mueller is elected member of the executive committee of the "Prepaid International Forum".
  • paysafecard launches in 10 other countries and expands into Argentina, the first country in Latin America.
  • From January, paysafecard is issued throughout Europe via Prepaid Services Company Ltd.
 

2008

  • paysafecard doubles its economic footprint in Europe and is successful in 14 European countries.
  • The FSA grants Prepaid Services Company Ltd. its own e-money license.
  • Bernd Egger takes on the responsibility of CFO of the paysafecard group.
 

2007

    • The number of transactions compared with that of the previous year rises by 100 %.
    • paysafecard exceeds its objectives in the internationalisation of all markets and is successfully established in seven countries and 2,500 web shops.
    • For its continued internationalisation, paysafecard was assured an EU grant (eTEN) amounting to the sum of 700,000 euros.
     

    2006

    • paysafecard launches in Greece, Slovenia, Spain and Slovakia and is now available in six countries.
    • At the beginning of December, paysafecard Ltd. started in the UK with its own small e-money license.
    • Udo Müller joins the executive board of paysafecard.
     

    2005

    • paysafecard is available in Austria and Germany from more than 20,000 sales outlets.
    • Michael Müller is appointed chairman of the board.
     

    2004

    • paysafecard customers can already choose from more than 1,500 web shops.
    • paysafecard is now also available at online shops and can be used online without waiting.
     

    2003

    • Michael Altrichter is the new executive member alongside Michael Müller.
    • 90% of sales outlets in Germany now sell paysafecard as "e-voucher".
     

    2002

    • paysafecard is now available as electronic printout (e-voucher) in Germany.
     

    2001

    • Start of business operations in Germany with a subsidiary in Düsseldorf.
     

    2000

    • paysafecard group is founded and launches business operations in Austria.
