The shopping highlight of the year is 26 November: Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving has traditionally marked the start of the Christmas shopping period. Every year shops entice customers with discounts and promotions. And since 2005, it has officially become the highest shopping sales day of the year in the USA. Nowadays, it’s no longer a purely US phenomenon. Huge sales promotions in Europe now also attract millions of bargain hunters here too. On this side of the pond, Black Friday is primarily an online experience. According to payment company Klarna, online purchases on Black Friday are 64% higher than on a normal Friday of the previous year. This probably also explains why Black Friday is so strongly connected to black numbers: it’s what business balances record on this day each year. Thanks to the huge volumes of sales made, many retailers are able to see their balance sheets move back into black, making up for sales losses of the previous months.
paysafecard is there!
To celebrate Black Friday in style, paysafecard is holding a special competition for its Facebook followers from 23 to 26 November. Entry simply requires answering one simple question: “What would you spend the PIN on during Black Friday?” Everyone who answers in the comments is entered into a prize draw to win paysafecard PINs worth 50 EUR each to spend on Black Friday. And that’s not all: Loyal customers reap twice the reward. Selected users of the paysafecard loyalty programme my PLUS can also look forward to extra special offers and discounts.
