How can I upgrade my status via Authada? (Germany)
This is the fastest way to upgrade your account status. To complete the process successfully, make sure that:
- you have an activated NFC compatible ID (German electronic ID card in credit card format, eID for Union citizens/EEA nationals in credit card format or activated electronic residence permit in credit card format);
- you have an Android/iOS smartphone with NFC function. Here’s a list of supported mobile devices: https://authada.de/geraetewhitelist
- you have installed the Authada app.
As a regulated financial institution, we are required to collect some additional information about you, such as your source of wealth or primary intent of use for your PaysafeCard account. You may be asked to confirm this data right after you’ve started the upgrade process. Please make sure the information you provide is correct and up to date.

If you don’t have the Authada app installed, on the first step of the process you’ll be able to scan a QR code to install it. Then, follow the steps below:
- Confirm that you agree your scanned data to be used for PaysafeCard registration.
- Enter your eID 5- or 6-digit PIN and click OK.
- Use the NFC function on your phone to scan your ID. You should hold your ID on the back of your phone. If the data transfer is unsuccessful, you can try again.
- A TAN will appear on your mobile phone screen – enter it on the PaysafeCard website and click Continue.
Once your verification is complete, you’ll see an on-screen confirmation.
