What is Verification of Payee, and how does it affect SEPA transfers?
Verification of Payee (VOP) is a security feature introduced by the European Commission's Instant Payments Regulation. When sending SEPA transfers through PaysafeWallet (formerly known as PaysafeWallet), the service checks if the recipient's name matches the entered IBAN before processing your payment. This helps protect you from fraud and prevents accidental payments to the wrong person.
How does this affect me?
When making SEPA transfers through your Wallet, our system will notify you if there's a mismatch (partial or complete). You can update the recipient’s name by tapping on the pencil icon next to the IBAN field:

Similarly, when a SEPA transfer is sent towards your Wallet, the verification will be carried on the sender’s side.
I’ve sent a SEPA transfer with the wrong information. What do I do?
If you've already sent money to someone using the wrong name or IBAN, you can request a SEPA recall. Check the article below for full instructions.
