Why did my credit/debit card payment fail when purchasing PIN online?
Copied to clipboard
There are several reasons why a credit or debit card payment may fail:
- The card issuer has declined the transaction. Contact them directly for information.
- You have reached your card’s limits. Contact your card issuer for more information.
- Incorrectly entered 3D Secure code. You may have an additional security step (one-time password) enabled for online payments. Make sure you enter the correct code. For more information, contact your card issuer.
- Too many failed 3DS authentication attempts. Contact your card issuer for assistance.
- You have entered your card details incorrectly. Double-check the card number, the spelling of your name, card expiration date, CVV and try again.
- Make sure to use credit or debit cards issued in your name only. We do not accept third-party payment instruments.
- You are trying to use a gift card. As currently we don’t accept gift cards, please try with a credit or debit card.
- The card you are trying to use is not Visa® or Mastercard®. Currently we accept payments only with these card types.
- You’re a resident of Belgium, Australia or The United Kingdom and are trying to use a credit card. Due to regulatory requirements, the use of credit cards for payments at the PIN Shop is not possible in these countries. Try using a debit card or an alternative payment method if available.
- The payment request has expired. Reinitiate the payment and complete it as soon as possible.
- Insufficient funds in your card. Try a smaller amount, a different card or an alternative payment method if available.
- You have reached your myPaysafe limits. Wait for them to be reset and try again. You could also purchase a physical PaysafeCard to use when paying online.
- Technical or connectivity issue. Perform basic troubleshooting as described in the related article below and re-attempt your payment.
