How to use Obucks for my ViaOne payments?

Copied to clipboard

ViaOne uses providers like AssistWireless and EnTouch Wireless to offer affordable phone service through a government subsidy program. If you qualify, you can get low-cost service and make monthly automated payments with a prepaid Obucks card.
When you enroll in one of the programs, you’ll pay a one-time fee—usually $15. ViaOne collects your consent to use that amount for monthly payments and issues a 16-digit Obucks card worth $15, which is added to your account.

How are payments made each month?
ViaOne securely stores your Obucks card details and automatically debits it with $1.25  every month. You don’t need to do anything - no manual code entry, no online payments. If your card runs out or is used elsewhere, the payment will fail, and you’ll be notified.

Can I stop the automatic payments?
Yes. If you decide to cancel auto-debits, just contact your provider. Once consent is revoked, the provider will stop the payments. You can still use any remaining balance on your Obucks card at other Openbucks merchants. Keep in mind that the Obucks cards are not reloadable and not refundable, so any unused funds should be spent before expiry.

Are there any extra costs for me?
No. You won’t be charged any additional fees. The full value of your card goes toward your service.

What happens after a year?
Each year, you’ll need to reapply for the subsidy program in-store. If approved again, you’ll receive a new Obucks card to continue your service for another 12 months.
