As an internationally active company based in Vienna, we continually participate in events and action days to give schoolchildren exciting glimpses into the world of digital payments, as well to highlight the range of jobs available in the IT industry. Recent glimpses behind the scenes at paysafecard were possible at the TUday 14, beWANTED 2014, as well as on Daughter’s Day, Vienna, 2014.
13th Daughter’s Day, Vienna, at paysafecard
For the first time ever, paysafecard participated in Daughter’s Day. Girls aged between 11 and 16 had the unique chance to get find out about technical careers and discover the diverse world of jobs available first hand. The girls had the opportunity to discover up close from dedicated employees interesting jobs different to those traditionally for women.
For Susanne Taschner, Human Resources Business Partner at paysafecard, the event was a complete success. “The technology-interested girls were highly motivated and very involved in every activity,” said Taschner. After a general introduction and a presentation of paysafecard as a company, the curious and knowledge-thirsty girls had the chance to test their skills: An exercise in which they built a prehistoric bird using the familiar software development method known as Scrum allowed the girls to experience the day-to-day work of a software developer in person. Technology presented in this way is fun!
Susanne Taschner already has next year’s participation in mind: “Girls should have the chance to glimpse behind the scenes at paysafecard. We wish to demonstrate the range of jobs available and we enjoy being able to get the young participants excited about the varied and creative IT careers out there.”
