Organisational structure

paysafecard operates in 50 countries around the globe. The holding company, Wertkarten AG, is based in Vienna, Austria, with offices in Dublin, Ireland and London, United Kingdom. There are also subsidiaries in, for example, Germany, UAE, Mexico, Argentina, Switzerland, Turkey and the USA.


The e-money licence valid for the full EEA area is held by a subsidiary of paysafecard, Paysafe Prepaid Services Limited (PPSL), with its headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. It entitles the company to issue electronic money throughout the EU area. The licence was issued by the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and is used in the EEA area for the paysafecard product. In Switzerland and outside Europe, a corresponding licence to issue electronic money is held by Schweiz GmbH, which is a member as a Swiss financial intermediary of the self-regulatory organisation SRO TREUHAND | SUISSE. SRO TREUHAND | SUISSE holds a licence from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) to monitor its members in accordance with the Money-Laundering Act . Prepaid Services Company Ltd. (PSCL), based in London, United Kingdom, holds an e-money licence issued by the British Financial Conduct Authority which is used in the UK for the paysafecard product.

The paysafecard Mastercard is issued by PPSL as a company associated with PSCL in accordance with a licence from Mastercard International. Mastercard® is a registered trademark of Mastercard International.
