10 February 2011 Vienna/Berlin - Roland Schaar, previously at Österreichische Volksbanken AG (ÖVAG), has taken over the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at paysafecard.com Wertkarten AG.
Roland Schaar’s (39) career thus far has seen him gain international experience in IT consulting at the consulting firm Accenture. After his time there, he became Managing Director of VBIT Service GmbH – a subsidiary of ÖVAG – and eventually Department Head for Organisation & Transformation Management at ÖVAG.
Born in Carinthia, he completed his education at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, USA as well at the University of Graz and Graz University of Technology, Austria.

In his role as CIO, Schaar will head the entire IT department of the company and report to the board. In addition to the software development of paysafecard.com Wertkarten AG products, the area includes quality management, technical support for partners, IT security and the running of the high-availability IT infrastructure.
