Lucerne, 10th December 2013 - The launch of YUNA TO GO in Switzerland by paysafecard, in partnership with Lekkerland Switzerland, sees the introduction of a new kind of prepaid Mastercard to the country. The card is now available to buy at 850 sales outlets, including at the petrol stations of leading oil companies in Switzerland, and is immediately ready to use. This sees paysafecard close another gap in the cashless payments segment. The Swiss market has been selected to pilot the new introduction.
Faster isn’t possible
Purchasing YUNA TO GO Prepaid Mastercard is incredibly easy: Purchase it at any of the 850 sales outlets, top it up with the desired amount and activate it by text message. The customer now has access to more than 33 million Mastercard acceptance points and over 1 million online shops. Purchasing the card requires neither the completion of a lengthy registration process nor a bank account. Once the credit on a card has been used, the card can be registered online. This allows customers to quickly and simply top it up again whenever they wish for a year at any of the many sales outlets. Pierre Dohn, Business Manager E-VA, Lekkerland Switzerland AG: “Being able to top up at actual sales outlets meets a real customer need and thoroughly satisfies the demand for a simple and practical top-up option - it’s simply convenient!”
Maximum acceptance and security coupled with complete spending control
YUNA TO GO combines the advantages of prepaid products with the widespread acceptance of credit cards. The partnership with Mastercard guarantees customers the latest security standards as well as access to one of the world’s most extensive payment systems. At the same time, the prepaid principle gives consumers complete, round-the-clock control of their spending. “YUNA TO GO delivers consumers with what is probably the simplest way to access e-commerce services. The majority of online shops nowadays require a credit card. This also includes making hotel and flight bookings. This presents an obstacle for anyone who doesn’t have one. In such cases, YUNA TO GO is the ideal solution,” says Marc Riedi, CEO paysafecard Switzerland.
Switzerland selected for market introduction
The European market leader in prepaid payment solutions, paysafecard, has selected Switzerland for the introduction of YUNA TO GO. “An ever-increasing number of people there are discovering the advantages of online cashless payments and are looking for a simple and safe entry point,” says Marc Riedi, CEO paysafecard Switzerland.
In February 2013, paysafecard launched the personalised prepaid Mastercard YUNA Card in Switzerland. This can also be topped up at any sales outlet, but due to its higher card limit, it may only be purchased online (www.yunacard.ch). Anyone who wishes to use YUNA TO GO for amounts greater than CHF 3000 a year can upgrade their card to YUNA Prepaid Mastercard whenever they wish and benefit from a higher annual limit of CHF 60,000.
