Scorn - When will it be released?
Scorn from the Serbian developer studio Ebb Software will be released on October 21st for PC and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be released for the PS5, but there is no official release date yet.
What is it about?
The developers have deliberately not revealed details about the story of Scorn. Players are thrown into a grotesque world of flesh and machine without a lot of information or context and have to survive. The setting itself is surreal and unpleasant, which gives the game its uneasy atmosphere. There are no cutscenes, the plot is told entirely through gameplay.
Does the game perhaps remind you of the Alien films? That's no coincidence. One of the main inspirations for the developers is the late artist HR Giger, who made film history with his design of the alien.
How does Scorn play?
In an open world, you can freely decide which areas you want to explore first. An area resembles a labyrinth of puzzles and rooms, which are of course full of enemies.
You can kill them with various weapons such as a pistol or shotgun, but ammunition is deliberately scarce. This is reminiscent of typical survival horror games like Silent Hill or classic Resident Evil.
